I love both equally. If I had to pick, I'd pick the original, just because it wins hard in all areas; characters, story, cinematography, terror, etc. The remake series I just like because of the characters and story--as a movie it really falls short of all the elements that made the original so great.

I used to hate remakes, but when I realized they're not going to stop making them and there was no use in hating them, I kinda relaxed and took them for what they were. Plus, as long as I get more TCM movies, I'll take remakes anyday. :D
